Solomon Writing

About

I have been a writer for as long as I can remember. I composed poems on the school bus and won a citywide essay writing contest in eighth grade. The reward for this accomplishment was a $500 savings bond, but despite this promising start, I never considered earning a living with words. (It would be another fifteen years or so before my writing income finally passed this early benchmark.)

I earned my undergraduate degree in biology from Cornell University and my master's in environmental studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have worked as - among other things - an outreach specialist, a community organizer, a scientific field technician, a Congressional intern, and a barista.

Every job in which I have excelled has involved writing. (I wasn't a very good barista.) Eventually I acknowledged the inevitable and began to write professionally. I have written for regional and national publications, as well as a variety of non-profit and corporate clients.

I live in Montreal, Quebec with my husband and daughter.
